Inspired my Stio and their seasonal catalogs, I wanted to create a publication designed for women who adventure outdoors. I set out to create a publication that could inspire women to have fun this winter, that the outdoors is a place for all, but to also provide an opportunity to educate about all things outdoors. 
In order to organize my brainstorming process, I first created a set of moodboards. As Stio was my first inspiration, I started with their internal branding and visual identity. I then dove into competitors as well as other big players in the outdoor industry to identify trends, and gage where the industry is headed. Finally, I gathered imagery to understand the feeling I wanted to portray to readers. 
From these moodboards, I organized my visual elements into spreads. As this is designed for print, I made sure to be thinking about visual narrative as well as the technical asset preparation elements of printed media. Below is the grid of spreads that I landed on. 
In order to ensure that my spreads would physically work well, I mocked them up as functional magazines before I send them off to print:
